RESOLUTION NO. 09-11
AMENDING RESOLUTION 09-09 APPROVING ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE TO
WESTLAKE ACADEMY'S PROOF OF RESIDENCY POLICY, AND AUTHORIZING
STAFF TO SUBMIT THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO THE TEXAS EDUCATION
AGENCY (TEA) FOR APPROVAL.
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees desires to amend the Westlake Academy Proof of
Residency Policy No, 09-09, approved and adopted on May 4, 2009, by adding additional
language to help clarity the residency requirements.- and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees authorizes staff to submit the amendments as
necessary to TEA, requiring submission of a charter amendment request for approval of any
substantive amendments to the Admissions Policy and requiring notification for approval of any
non-substantive amendments' classification; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees finds that the passage of this Resolution to further
clarify the existing policy by adding additional language is in the best interest of the Academy;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
WESTLAKE ACADEMY:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Trustees of Westlake Academy hereby approves the
amendment to Resolution 09-09, adding additional language as indicated in the attached Exhibit
"A". Board of Trustees Policy No. 09-09, and authorizes submission of the amended policy to
TEA for approval as necessary.
SECT.10, N.'2. That this Resolution shall become effective upon the date of its passage,
and contingent upon approval by the TEA as necessary.
PASSED AND APPROVED ON THIS 3 DAY OF AUGUST 2009.
