HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 12-17 WA Supporting Charter School Litigation WESTLAKE ACADEMY RESOLUTION NO. 12-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE WESTLAKE ACADEMY BOARD OF TRUSTEES SUPPORTING CHARTER SCHOOL INTERVENTION IN THE CURRENT SCHOOL FINANCE LITIGATION THROUGH THE TEXAS CHARTER SCHOOL ASSOCIATION. WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees supports adequate and equitable funding for public schools in order to provide for the educational needs of the students at Westlake Academy; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees desires to support the efforts of the Texas Charter School Association in their pursuit of adequate and equitable funding for charter schools; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees desires to allocate appropriate funding according to the request of the Texas Charter School Association, which is based on our student enrollment rate, and WHEREAS, the Westlake Academy Board of Trustees finds that the passage of this Resolution is in the best interests of the Academy. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF WESTLAKE ACADEMY: SECTION 1: That, all matters stated in the recitals hereinabovc arc found to be true and correct and are incorporated herein by reference as if copied in their entirety. SECTION 2: The Board hereby supports the Texas Charter School Association, Charter School Litigation: Unite Behind the Movement. SECTION 3: if any portion of this Resolution shall, for any reason, be declared invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining provisions hereof and the Board hereby determines that it would have adopted this Resolution without the invalid provision.
