AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE
INHABITANTS AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE
TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT
SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE TOWN OF
WESTLAKEj TEXAS,, AND THAT.THE INHABITANTS
SHALL BE ENTITLED TO THE, RIGHTS'AND PRIVILEGES
OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE.,
TEXAS., A14D BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES
ENACTED IN PURSUANCE TO TITLE 28, CHAPTERS I to
10 INCLUSIVE, REVISED CIVIL STATUTES OF TEXAS,
AND AMENDING AND CORRECTING OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES
OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE., TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE
ADOPTED AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 9-(4 of the 1925 Revised Civil
Statutes of Texas, Mrs. R. .3. Carpenter and others, inhabitants
of the area herein described and who are qualified to vote for
members of the State Legislature, have heretofore filed with the
Mayor and the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas,
their petition requesting annexation of.the said area to the
Town of Westlake, Texas, such area being described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point at the intersection of the most
westerly north line of the present corporate limits
of the town of Westlake -and the east line of County
Road No. 4060, said point being the most westerly
northwest corner of said town;
THENCE North with the east line of'L County Road No.
4060 1419 feet to a point for -corner in the north
line of the Wm. Huff Survey A-646;
THENCE East the north line of said Huff Survey to a
point for corner, said point being the northeast
corner of the Wm. Huff Survey and the northwest
corner of the Jesse Gibson Survey A-592;
THENCE South with the east line of said Huff Survey
and the west line of said Gibson Survey a distance of
155 feet more or less to a point for corner;
THENCE East and at all times 155 feet south of and
parallel to the south line of the J. Bacon Survey
A-1565 to a point in the west line of County Road
No. 4057 and a corporate 11iflit line of the town of
Westlake and continuing on across said road and
corporate limits to a point in the east line of
the M. hunt Survey A-7565 at the intersection of
the south line of the W. Medlin Survey A-1958 and
the north line of the Hrs. of C. M. Throop Survey
A-1510 and continuing on East along the south line
of said Medlin Survey and the north line of Throop
Survey to a point for corner (said point being in
an inner West line of the corporate limit of the
Town of Westlake and from this point on the limits
of said town will be followed);
THENCE South a distance of 400 feet to a point for
corner;
THENCE East and at all times 400 feet south of and
parallel to the north line of Hrs. of C. M. Throo
ol
Survey to the east line of the B. A. Zwald 136 1 3
acre tract;
THENCE South with the east line of said Zwald tract
to a point for corner, said point being the southeast

corner of said Zwald tract and in the north line of
the John A. McGuire land;
THENCE West with the south line of the said Zwald tract
and the north line of the McGuire land to a point for
corner, said point being in the east line of County
Road No. 3080;
THENCE North with said County Road to a corner in same
to the left and continuing on West with the north line
of County Road to another corner in road to the right
to its intersection with the east line of County Road
No. 4026 and continuing on North with the east line of
said county road to a point for corner, said point
being at the southwest corner of the M. L. Roberts
40 acre tract;
THENCE East with the south line of said Roberts Tract a
distance of 200 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE North and at all times 200 feet east of and
parallel to the east line of County Road No. 4026 to
a point for corner;
TIENCE West and crossing County Road No. 4026 at
200 feet and continuing on to a point for corner,
said point being 1200 feet west of the west line
of County Road No. 4026;
THENCE South and at all times 1200 feet west of and
parallel to the west line of County Road No. 4026 to
County
a point for corner, said point being in the North
line County Road No. 4080;
THENCE West with the north line of said County Road
to a point for corner., said point being; the southeast

THENCE North with the east line of said Wilde tract a
distance of 1000 feet;
THENCE West a distance of 700 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE South and at all times 700 feet west of and
parallel to the east line of the Wilde tract a distance
of 1000 feet to a point for corner, said point being
in.the north line of County Road No. 4080;
THE,NCE West with the north line of said County Road to
a point for corner, said point being in east line of
County Road No. 4057;
THENCE North with the cast line of said County Road to
a point for corner, said point being the southwest
corner of the R. B. Carpenter 20 acre tract in the
Jesse Gibson Survey A-592;
THENCE East with the south line of said Carpenter tract
a distance of 300 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE North and at all tirnes 300 feet east of and
parallel to the east line of County -Road No. 4057 to
a point for corner, said point being in the north line
of said Carpenter tract;
THENCE West a distance of 300 feet to a point for corner,
said point being the northwest corner of said Carpenter
tract;
THENCE North with tne East line of County Road No.
4057 to a point for corner;
THENCE West crossing said county road and continuing
on with the corporate Limits of the Town of Westlake
to a point for corner, said point being in the east
line of the J. Glenn Turner 81.3 acre tract out of
the Jesse Gibson Survey A-592;
THENCE South crossing the corporate Limits of the Town

of Westlake and continuing on with the east line of
said Turner tract to a point for corner, said point
being the southeast corner of said Turner tract;
THENCE Vest with the South line of said Turner tract
to a Point for corner, said point being the southwest
corner of said Turner tract and in the east line of
the Wm. Huff Survey A-648;
THENCE North with the west line of the said Turner
tract and the east line of said Huff Survey to a point
in the corporate limits of Town of Westlake and contin-
uing on and crossing the said corporate Limits to a
Point for corner, said point being in the north line
of the most westerly north line of the Corporate Limits
of the Town of Westlake;
THENCE West and following the north line of said corporate
Limits to the point of beginning, and covering a tract
of land containing 1.066 's�'quare miles. C.)
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to Town of
Westlake, Texas, being attached hereto marked EXHIBIT "A"; and
WHEREAS, said petition was accompanied by an affidavit exe-
cuted by Mrs. R. D. Carpenter and two or more others, inhabitants
of the area described who are qualified to vote for members of
the Stlate Legislature and who by signing said affidavit certified
that said petition contains the signatures of more than fifty
percent of the qualified voters residing in such area who have
voted in favor of having the said area and the inhabitants thereof
annexed to and become a part of the Town of Westlake., Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the To -an of Westlake has certified to
the 3oard of Aldermen of said Town that said affidavit has hereto-
fore been filed before said Mayor; and
WHEREAS, it appearing to the Board of Aldermen of the Town
of Westlake., Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection
with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the
said area duly grouped into one territory Is not more than 1/2
mile in width and that all of same is adjacent to the present
Town Limits of the Town of Westlake, Texas;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF
WEISTLAKE, TEXAS:
1.
THAT, the property hereinabove described being adjacent
and contiguous to the Town Limits of Westlake, Texas, be and is
hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of said
Town and is hereby made an Integral part thereof.
2.
THAT the inhabitants of the territory herein annexed to
the Town.of Westlake., Texas,, shall be entitled to all the rights
and privileges of other citizens and bound by all the acts and
ordinances made in conformity thereto and passed and adopted in
pursuance to Title 28, Chapters I to 10 inclusive, Revised Civil
Statutes of Texas.
3.
TIE official map and boundaries of the Town of Westlake,
Texas, to be corrected and amended so as to include the afore-
mentioned described territory as part of said Town.
4,
THIS, ordinance shall become effective and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor
and duly attested by the Town Secretary.

Greeting:
We the undersigned qualified voters and inhabitants of
the area described in the metes and bounds description and plat
attached hereto marked EXHIBITS "A" and "B" and made a part
hereof for all intents and purposes herein, do hereby petition
your Honorable Body to extend the present City Limits of the Town
of Westlake, Texas, so as to include such territory as a part of
said Town.
Your petitioners agree that if' this request for annexation
be granted, said land shall become a part of the Town of Westlake,
Texas, and the said land and any future inhabitants thereof shall
be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens of
said Town and shall -be bound by the acts and ordinances of said
Town of Westlake, now in effect and as hereafter enacted.

Situated in the County of Tarrant, State of Texas, being
a tract of land out of the following Surveys: 'Wm. Huff A-648,
Jesse Gibson A-592, G. B. Hendricks A-680, M. Hunt A-756, Hrs. of
C. M. Throop A-1510.
BEGINNING at a point at the intersection of the most
westerly north line of the present corporate limits of the town
of Westlake and the east line of County Road No. 40060, said point
being the most westerly northwest corner of said town;
THENCE North With the east line of County Road No. 4060
