HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 13 Disannexing 20 acres of land in Denton and Tarrant CountiesORDINANCE NO. 13 AN ORDINANCE DETACHING A CERTAIN AREA, FROM TEE TONIN OF ;nicSTLAKE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING `i'.HE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID TOWN AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED, AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, a certain tract of land out of he W. H. Rea Survey, A-1145, situated in !arrant and Denton Counties, Texas, consisting of 20 acres, more or less, described on the official map of the Town of Westlake, Texas, as being owned by one A. C. Heath more fully described by metes and bounds, to -wit: BEGINNING in Tarrant County at the southeast corner of the A. C. Heath property and being also in the north line of the W. Medlin Survey A-1958; THENCE west with said Heath`s south line and north line of said Medlin survey for a distance of 600 feet to a point for corner; THENCE north and at all times 600 feet west of and parallel to said Heath's east line to a point in his northeast line, said point being in the southwest line of State highway No. 114 and continuing on north and crossing said highway to a point in the northeast "line of said. highway; THENCE in a southeasterly direction with said highway to a point for corner; TIENCE south and crossing said highway to said Heath's northeast corner, and continuing on south with said Heath's east line to the point of beginning and covering a tract of land containing approximately 20 acres. It is the intent of the above description to cover a strip of land 600 feet wide off the east side of the A. C. death tract and the 100 feet wide right-of-way of State Highway No. ll4 fronting said tract along the north side, was through error included within the boundaries of said Town, at the time of its incorporation on December 27, 1956; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen, acting in its official capacity, and for the best interest and general welfare of the Town and its inhabitants find that such area should be detached from the Corporate Limits of the Town. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS: 1. THAT, the tract of land above described be and it is hereby detached from the Corporate Limits of the Town of Westlake, Texas, and that such territory be and hereby is no longer a part of the Town of Westlake, and the inhabitants thereof shall not be entitled to the rights and privileges of other citizens residing in the remaining territory comprising the Town of Westlake, 'Texas, following such detachment as herein provided. 2. THAT, the official map and boundaries of the Town of Westlake, `Ceras, as heretofore adopted and amended, be and it is hereby amended so as to detach the aforementioned 'tract of land as a part of the Town of Westlake, Texas. 3. THIS, ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and duly attested by the Town Secretary. ADOPTED this day of February, A.
