AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO 'PH'11 TOWN OF WESTLAKE
TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A
PART OF SAID TOWN AND THATTHE OWNERS AND
INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL
THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID TOWN,
AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN
EFFECT AND TO 3E HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER
PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE
OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID TOWN AS HERETOFORE
ADOPTED AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE..
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 1953,
53rd Legislature, Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article
974-G, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, J. Glenn Turner and wife,
Sue Reeder Turner, E. H. Reeder and wife,Elizabeth. Reeder, J.
A. Reeder and wife Lyra DeWees Reeder, W. Ralph Merrill and wife,
Florence N. Merrill, and H. S. Thrasher and wife, Rvelg
TfiNzrbesl , owners of the real property hereinafter�cescribed
having made application as by law provided to the Mayor and
Board of Aldermen of the mown of Westlake, Texas, requesting
annexation of the lands lying within a 0.34408 square mile tract
of land, more or less, out of the G. B. Hendricks A-680, L.
Boggess A-196 and Josiah Walker A-1604 Surveys, Tarrant County,
Texas, and being more fully described by metes and bounds as
follows:
BuGINNING at a point at the northeast corner of the r
W. Ralph Merrill 60 acre tract in the L. Boggess
Survey A-196, said point of beginning being in a
south line of the present corporate limits of the
town of Westlake and the northeast corner of the
herein described tract;
THENCE S 00 15' E with the east line of said Merrill
tract passing its southeast corner at 1763.89 feet
and continuing on for a total distance of 504 feet
more or less along this line extended across the E.
H. Reeder 154,29 and 177.53 acre tracts to a point
for corner in the south line of said Reeder 177.53
acre tract out of the Josian Walker Survey A-1604;
THENCE S 890 41, W with the south line of said Reeder
tract a distance of 1216 feet more or less to a point
for corner at the southwest corner of the E. H.
Reeder 177-53 acre tract;
THENCE N 00 26t W with the west lines of the E. H.
Reeder 177.53 and 154.29 acre tracts a distance of
3891.67 feet to a point for corner at the northwest
corner of the E. H. Reeder 154.29 acre tract, said
point being in the south line of the L. Boggess Survey
and the north line of the josiah Walker Survey;
THENCE West with the south line of the said 3ogges5
Survey passing its southwest corner and continuing on
with the south line of the G. B. Hendricks Survey
A-680 to a point for corner, said point being in the
south line of the W. Ralph Merrill 29.3 acre tract
and 10 feet east of the present corporate limits of
the town of Westlake;
THENCE north 10 feet east of and at all times parallel
to the said corporate limits a distance of 660 feet to
a point for corner in the south line of the Georgia A.
Pippin 10.7 acre tract;
THENCE east with the south line of said Pippin tract to
a point at the southeast corner of said tract;
THENCE north with the east line of the Pippin 10.7
acre tract to a point for corner, said point being
the northeast corner of the Pippin tract and in the
south line of the H. S. Thrasher 40 acre tract;
THENCE West with the south line of the said Thrasher
tract to a point for corner in the present corporate
limits of the town of Westlake;
THENCE north following present corporate limits to a
point for corner;
THENCE east following said corporate limits to a point
for corner, said point being in the east line of the
G. B. Hendricks Survey A-680;
THENCE south with the east line of said Hendricks Survey
and following the present corporate limits to a point
for corner at the northwest corner of the W. Ralph
Merrill 60 acre tract out of the L. Boggess Survey;
THENCE east with the north line of the said Merrill
tract and following the present corporate limits to
the point of beginning, and covering a tract of land
containing 0.3408 square miles.
it is the intent of the hereinabove described tract to
cover the west 107.20 acres of the E. H. Reeder 154.29
and 177.53 acre tracts out of the Josiah Walker survey
A-1604, the W. Ralph Merrill 60 acre tract out of the
L. Boggess Survey A-196, the southeast 24.6 acres of
the W. Ralph Merrill 29.3 acre tract and the southeast
26.3 acres of the H. S. 'Thrasher 40 acre tract out of
the G. B. Hendricks Survey A-680.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the Town
of Westlake, Texas, being attached hereto marked ABIBI`1' "A"; and
WHEREAS, said petition was filed with theTown of Westlake at
9;15 a.m. on January 7, 1957, which is not less than five (5) and
not more than thirty (30) days prior to this date; and
WHEREAS, it appearing to the Board of Aldermen of the Town
of Westlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection
with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the
said area duly grouped into one territory is not more than 1/2
anile in width and that all of same is adjacent to the present
Town Limits of the Town of Westlake, Texas;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN Or THE TOWN OF
WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
1.
THAT, the property hereinabove described being adjacent and
contiguous to the down Limits of Westlake, Texas, be and is hereby
annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of said Town and
is hereby made an integral part thereof. ..
2.
THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed
be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other citizens
C�3; and property owners of said Town and be bound by all of the acts
and ordinances made in conformity thereto, now in full force and
effect and that which may be hereafter adopted.

THAT, the official map and boundaries of the Town of Westlake,
Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be and is hereby amended
so as to -include the aforementioned territory as part of the Town
of Westlake, Texas.
THIS, ordinance shall become effective and be in 'ull force
< and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor

To the Honorable Mayor and Members of the Board of Aldermen of the
Town of Westlake, Texas.
GREETINGS: J. Glenn Turner and wife,
Sue Reeder Turner
We, the undersigne , E. H. Reeder and wire, Elizabeth
Reeder, J.,*. Reeder and wife Lyra DeWees Reeder, W. Ralph Merrill
and wife Clore'scP h. AerNi it , and H. S. Thrasher and wife
layela ThrZ,xheo , of Tarrant County, Texas, hereinafter
caped Petitioners, represent as follows:
1. That they are the Owners of the lands lying within
0.3+08 square mile tract of land situated in the G. B. Hendricks
A-680, L. Boggess A-196 and Josiah Walker A-1604 Surveys, Tarrant
County, Texas, fully described by metes and bounds as shown in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to
the boundary of the Town of Westlake, Texas, is attached hereto
marked EXHIBIT "B".
2. That, the land described.,.in EXHIBIT "A" and "B" hereto
attached, is less than one-half mile in width; that less than three
qualified voters reside thereon, and is contiguous and adjacent to
the Town of Westlake, Texas.
3. Your petitioners agree that if this request for annexa-
tion be granted, said land shall become a part of the Town of Westlake,
Texas, and the said land and any future inhabitants thereof shall be
entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens of the
Town of Westlake, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of
said Town, now in effect and as hereafter enacted.
WHEREFORE, your petitioners respectfully request that this
Petition for Annexation to the Town of Westlake, of the land des-
cribed in attached EXHIBITS be granted.
WITNESS the signatures of petitioners duly acknowledged as
required for deeds.

BEGINNING at a point at the northeast corner of the R.
Ralph Merrill 60 acre tract in the L. Boggess Survey A-196, said
point of beginning being in a south line of the present corporate
limits of the town of Westlake and the northeast corner of the
herein described tract;
