ORDINANCE NO. 10
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS M THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE
TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A
PART OF SAID TOWN AND THAT THE OWNERS AND
INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL
THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER.CITIZENS OF SAID TUNNT,
AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN
EFFECT AND TO BE HEIREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER
PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE
OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID TOWN AS HERETOFORE
ADOPTED.AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 1953,
53rd Legislature, Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article
9'74-G, Revised CivZL Statutes of Texas, Alvin M. Owsley and wife,
Lucy Ball Owsley, owners of the real property hereinafter des-
cribed having made application as by law provided to the Mayor
and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas, requesting
annexation of a tract of land consisting of a 0.462 square mile
tract of land, more or less, out of the J. Eads A-392 Survey and
the W. D. Medlin A-829 Survey, Denton County, Texas, and being
more fully described by metes and bounds as follows®
BEGINNING at a point in the present corporate limits
of the town of Westlake, Texas, said point being at
the corim= corners of the J. Eads Survey A-392, W.
D. Medlin Survey A-829, J. Sutton Survey A-1154 and
the C. Medlin Survey A-823;
THENCE north with present corporate limits and the
common line between the J. Eads and W. D. Medlin
Survey a distance of 680 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE west with present corP.

of 660 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE south with present corporate limits a distance
of 660 feet to a point for corner in the north line of
a county road into the town of Roanoke;
THENCE West and leaving present corporate limits and
following north line of said county road to its inter-
section with the northeast line of State Highway No.
114, said point being 1395 feet west of the southeast
corner of the Alvin M. Owsley 124.37 acre tract out
of the J. Eads Survey A-392;
THENCE northwest with the northeast line of said State
Highway No. 114 a distance of 714 feet to a point for
-corner at the southwest corner of the said Owsley
124.37 acre tract;
THENCE N 10 21' W with the West line of said Owsley
tract a distance of 2402 feet to a point for corner
at the northwest corner of said Owsley tract; said
point being in the north line of the J. Eads Survey
A-392;
TIENCE east with the north line of said Eads Survey and
Owsley tract a distance of 2116 feet to the northwest
corner of the Alvin M. Owsley 353.5 acre tract;
THENCE N 890 E with the north line of said Owsley tract
passing the northwest corner of the W. D. Medlin Survey
and continuing on with. the north line of said Owsley
tract and the Medlin Survey a distance of 5002.78 feet
to the northeast corner of the Owsley 353-5 acre tract
for a point for corner;
TIENCE S 10 E with the east line of said Owsley 353.5
acre tract to a point for corner in the south line of
the W. D. Medlin Survey A-829;
TEENCE West with the south line of said Medlin Survey
to the pointof beginning and covering a tract of land
containing 0.462 square miles.
It is the intent of the hereinabove described tract to
cover all of the Alvin M. Owsley lands in the J. Eads
Survey A-392 and the W. D. Medlin Survey A-829 con-
taining 306.25 acres excepting a 10 acre tract that
was included in the original incorporation of the town
of Westlake, Texas.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the Town
of Westlake, Texas, being attached hereto marked EXHIBIT "A"; and

PETITION RIEQUESTING ANNEXATION OF, LAND CONTIGUOUS AND
ADJACENT TO THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS
To the Honorable Mayor and Members of the Board of Aldermen of the
Town of Westlake, Texas.
GREETINGS:
We, the undersigned, Alvin M. Owsley and wife Lucy Ball
Owsley, of Denton County, Texas, hereinafter called Petitioners,
represent as follows:
1. That they are the Owners of a 0.462 square mile tract
of land situated in the J. Eads A-392 and the W. D. Medlin A-829
Surveys, Denton County, Texas, fully described by metes and bounds
as shown in Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to
the boundary of the Town of Westlake, Texas, is attached hereto
marked EXHIBIT "B".
2. That, the land described in EXHIBIT "A" and "B" hereto
attached, is less than one-half mile in width; that less than three
qualified voters reside thereon, and is contiguous and adjacent to
the Town of Westlake, Texas.
3. Your petitioners agree that if this request for annexa-
tion be granted, said land shall become a part of the Town of Westlake,
Texas, and the said land and any future inhabitants thereof shall be
entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens of the
Town of Westlake, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of
said Town, now in effect and as hereafter enacted.
WHEREFORE, your petitioners respectfully request that this
Petition for Annexation to the Town of Westlake., of the land des-
cribed in attached EXHIBITS be granted.
WITNESS the signatures of petitioners duly acknowledged as
required for deeds.

BEFORE ME, the undersigned, a Notary Public in and for
said County and State, on this day personally appeared ALVIN M.
OWSLEY and LUCY BALL OWSLEY, his wife, both known to me to be the
persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing instrument, and
acknowledged to me that they each executed the same for the purposes
and consideration therein expressed, and the said LUCY BALL OWSIEY,
wife of the said ALVIN M. OWSLEY having been examined by me privily
and apart from her husband, and having the same fully explained to
her, she, the said LUCY BALL OWSLEY acknowledged such instrument to
be her act and deed, and she declared that she had willingly signed
the same for the purposes and consideration therein expressed, and
that she did not wish to retract it.
GIVEN UNDER 14Y HAND AND SEAL OF OFFICE, this the 4/1 day
of A. D. 1956.

In Tarrant and Denton Counties, Texas
Situated in the County of Denton, State of Texas, being
a tract of land out of the followino, Surveys: J. Eads A-392 and
W. D. Medlin A-829. C:
BEGINNING at a point in the present corporate limits of
the town of Westlake, Texas, said point being at the common corners
of the J. Eads Survey A-392, W. D. Medlin Survey A-829, J. Sutton
Survey A-1154 and the C. Medlin Survey A-823;
THENCE north with present corporate limits and the common
line between the J. Eads and IVI. D. Medlin Survey a distance of 680
feet to a point for corner;
THENCE west with present corporate limits a distance of
660 feet to a point or corner;
THENCE south with present corporate limits a distance of
660 feet to a point for corner in the north line of a county road
into the town of Roanoke;
THENCE West and leaving present corporate limits and
following north line of said county road to its intersection with
the northeast line of State Highway No. 114, said point being

Owsley 353.5 acre tract for a point for corner;

cover all of the Alvin M. Owsley lands in the J. Eads Survey A-392
and the W. D. Medlin Survey A-829 containing 306.25 acres excepting

of the town of Westlake, Texas.
