HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 29 Providing for Licensing of certain Entertainment ProjectsORDINANCE NO. 29 AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE LICENSING OF CERTAIN ENTERTAINMENT PROJECTS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAla, TEXAS WHEREAS, the police protection provided for the citi- zens of the Town of Westlake is limited; and WHEREAS, certain public entertainment projects may create a nuisance and the Board of Aldermen have determined that in the best interest and general welfare of the Town and its inhabitants certain procedures be promulgated for the law- ful licensing of such entertainment projects; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ALDERME',N OF THE TOWN OF 1,4ES)TLAKL:P,, TEXAS: 1. That no circus, carnival, horse racing event, auto- mobile or drag racing event, or fair which is open to attend- ance by the public generally, whether or not any fee or other admission charge is made, shall be conducted within the cor- porate Limits of the Town of Westlake, Texas, unless the same shall have been licensed by the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas after a public hearing for which written notice shall have been published for at least two weeks prior to such hearing by being posted at the usual places where notices of elections of the Town of Westlake have been here- tofore posted, and after such Board of Aldermen shall have established a proper licensing fee therefor. 2. THIS Ordinance shall become effective force and effect from and after its passage and Mayor and duly attested by the Town Secretary. ADOPTED this -2 7 daylof April, A. At P -OVED: o t6_A. ODOM, Town Secretary of the Town of Westlake, Texas, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of Ordinance No. 29, duly presented and adopted by the Board of Aldermen of said Town of Westlake, Texas, at a meeting held on the 27th day of April, 1964, as same appears in the minutes of said meet- ing, in Book No. 2, pages 279-280.
