HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 98 Canvassing April 3, 1976 election NO. 98 AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS OF ELECTION HELD APRIL 3 , 1976 , TO ELECT TWO ALDERMEN , ONE MAYOR AND ONE TOWN MARSHAL. THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS , HEREBY ORDAINS : SECTION I . That the Town Council officially finds and determines that an election was duly ordered to be held in the Town of Westlake, Texas , on the 3rd day of April, 1976 , for the purpose of electing two Alder- men, one Mayor and one Town Marshal, to said Council; that proper notice of said election was duly given; that proper election offi- cers were duly appointed prior to said election; that said election was duly held; that due returns of the result of said election have been made and delivered; and that the Town Council has duly can- vassed said returns; all in accordance with law. SECTION II . That the Town Council officially finds and determines that only resident qualified electors of said Town were allowed to vote at said election, and the following votes were cast at said election for each candidate and write-in, there being no other person receiving any votes at this election: FOR MAYOR: Dale L. White - 17 votes FOR ALDERMAN: howard. Dudley - 17 votes Alvin F. Oien Jr. - 15 votes FOR TOWN MARSHAL: A. L. Odom - 7 votes ( write in } Jack Thrasher - 1 vote ( write in } SECTION III . That the Town Council officially finds, determines and declares the results of said election to be that Howard Dudley and Alvin F. Oien _Jr_,_ each have received the proper number of votes to be elected Aldermen and Dale L. White has received the proper number of votes to be elected Mayor and A. L. Odom has received the proper number of votes to be elected Town Marshal, and that each of them is elected to said Council in accordance with law. PASSED and APPROVED this the 5th day of April, A.
