AN ORDINANCE BY THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, ADOPTING SUBDIVISION
REGULATIONS FOR EXTRA -TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION AREA; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake, Texas has previously adopted
ordinances regarding rules, regulations and construction standards
pertaining to the subdivision of land within the town limits of
Westlake; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council of Westlake desires to extend
those rules, regulations and construction standards to its extra-
territorial jurisdiction
xtra-territorialjurisdiction for the purpose of promoting the health,
safety, morals and general welfare of the citizens of Westlake;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
ARTICLE I. PURPOSE
These general rules and regulations governing the platting,
subdivision and development of land within the extra -territorial
jurisdiction of the Town of Westlake are adopted for the purpose
of promoting the health, safety, morals and general welfare and
safe, orderly and healthful development of the Town of Westlake,
Texas.
ARTICLE II. REGULATIONS
The following subdivision ordinances passed by the Town of
Westlake on November 121, 1973, are applicable and are extended as
rules, regulations and construction standards for subdivision of
property within the extra -territorial jurisdiction of the Town of
Westlake:

SECTION I I .
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or circumstances is held invalid by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and the Town Council of the
Town of Westlake, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted
such remaining portions despite any such invalidity.

That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days from the date of its passage, and the Town Secretary is here-
by directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published
twice in the official newspaper of the Town of Westlake, Texas,
within ten (la) days of the date of its passage.
