AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO
THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS; BEING ALL THAT LOT, TRACT OR PARCEL
OF LAND CONSISTING OF 11.32 .ACRES LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN THE
COUNTY OF TARRANT, STATE OF TEXAS AND BEING IN THE C. M. THROOP
SURVEY; CLASSIFYING THE SAME AS LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL USE PRO-
PERTY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the request for annexation was introduced at a
regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Westlake, Texas,
on the petition of A. M. Tate, Sr.; and
WHEREAS, an opportunity was afforded, at a public hearing
held for that purpose on November 12, 1973, for all interested
persons to state their views and present evidence bearing upon
the annexation provided by this ordinance; and
WHEREAS, notice of the public hearing has been published in
full at least one time in the official newspaper of the Town of
Westlake, Texas, prior to the public hearing.
NOW THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS,
HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.
That the hereinafter described tract of land be, and the
same is hereby, annexed to the Town of Westlake, Texas, and the
same is made hereby a part of said Town and the land and any
present and future inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all
the rights and privileges of other citizens of said Town and
shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said Town now in
effect or which may -hereafter be enacted and the property situated
therein shall be-s.ubje.ct.to and shall bear its pro -rata part of
the taxes levied by the Town. The tract of land hereby annexed is
described as follows, to -wit:
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land out of the C.M.
Throop Survey in Tarrant County, Texas, described as follows:
BEGINNING at a pipe on the west bank of a branch 318.3 varas west
of the southeast corner of the said C. M. Throop Survey;
THENCE west along the south line of said survey 762.7 varas to a
Post oak tree 10 inches in diameter on the east of the road;
THENCE north 00 45' west along the east line of road 79.2 varas
to a point in the south line of a road;
THENCE along the south line of a road north 880 371 east 577.9
varas;
THENCE south 861 57' east 54.3 varas;
THENCE south 75° 53' east 44.2 varas;
THENCE south 68° east 95.7 varas to a point in the center of a
branch;
THENCE up branch south 43.8 varas to the place of beginning and
containing 11.32 acres of land, more or less.
SECTION II.
The above described property is hereby classified as Low
Density Residential Use Property and shall appear on the official
zoning map of the Town of Westlake, Texas, which map shall be
amended accordingly.

Ta THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
I, the undersigned, resident inhabitant and owner of the
territory described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by refer-
ence 'made a part hereof, hereby petition the Town Council of the
Town of Westlake, and the Town of Westlake to annex said territory
which is contiguous with the corporate limits of the Town of West-
lake, all of which territory lies within one --half (k) mile of the
present corporate limits of the Town of Westlake and within the
extraterritorial jurisdiction of said City.
In connection therewith, I hereby certify that I am in
favor of becoming a part of the Town of Westlake, Texas, and be-
ing annexed by the Town of Westlake, Texas. The territory to be
annexed is described in Exhibit "A"
WHEREFORE, your Petitioner prays that the Mayor certify
to the Council of the Town of Westlake that the owner of the terri-
tory described in Exhibit "A", is in favor of becoming a part of
the Town of Westlake, and the Council, by Ordinance, receives
such territory and inhabitants as a part of the Town of Westlake
are entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens and
bound by all the acts and ordinances made by the Town of Westlake.
That the Town of Westlake will not exceed in size the maxi-
mum permitted by law following annexation of the territory des-
cribed in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and by reference made a part
hereof, and that said territory adjoins the corporate limits of the
Town of Westlake, is contiguous thereto, does not exceed one-half_
(k) mile in width, and lies entirely within the extra -territorial
jurisdiction of the Town.

inland for Denton County, Texas, on this day personally appeared

who after being by me duly sworn upon, oath, depose and say he
is the owner of the territory described in Exhibit "A", attached
hereto and by reference rade a part hereof, and does hereby file
this his petition asking that the said property be annexed into
the Town of Westlake, Texas, and request the Town of Westlake to
annex the said territory.

annexation of Tate's property. The matter may be sche-
duled for a public hearing at the November 12, 1973 meet-
ing. Notice needs to be published in the official paper
between October 24th and November 2nd. The notice needs
to be published one time.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town
of Westlake,, Texas, will hold a public hearing on Monday,
November 12, 1973, at 7:30 P.M. at the Bilbo Ranch in the
Town of Westlake to consider the request of A. M. Tate,
Sr. that his property located outside the corporate limits
be annexed to the Town. The total land area of this re-
quest consists of approximately 11.32 acres within the C.M.
Throop Survey in Tarrant County, Texas.
