AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS OF ELECTION HELD APRIL 1,
1978, TO ELECT A MAYOR, FOUR ALDERMEN AND A TOWN MARSHALL,
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.
That the Town Council officially finds and determines that
an election was duly ordered to be held in the Town of Westlake,
Texas, on the 1st day of April, 1978, for the purpose of electing
a Mayor, Two (a) Aldermen for two year terms, and Two (2) Aldermen
for unexpired one (1) year terms, and a Town Marshall for the Town
of Westlake, Texas; that proper notice of said election was duly
given; that proper election officers were duly appointed prior to
said election; that said election was duly held; that due returns
of the result of said election have been made and delivered; and
that the Town Council has duly canvassed said returns; all in
accordance with law.
SECTION II.
That the Town Council officially finds and determines that
only resident qualified electors of said Town were allowed to vote
at said election, and the following votes were cast at said election
for each candidate and write-in, there being no other person receiv-
ing any votes at this election:
Mayor: Dale White 13 votes
Aldermen: Sherry A, Dudley, 13 votes
Howard Dudley 13 votes
Jerry N. Moore 12 votes
Alvin E. Oien 12 votes
Town Marshall: Ted , Elder 7 votes
SECTION III,
That the Town Council officially finds, determines and declares
the results of said election to be that Dai, white
is elected as Mayor;
Howard Dudl
Sherry A. Dudle
and
are elected as Aldermen for two
(2) year terms, and Jerry N. Moore and
Alvin S. Oien
are elected as Aldermen for
unexpired one (1) year terms; and Ted C. Elder
is elected as Town Marshall; and each received the proper number of
votes to be elected, and that each of them is elected to said Council
in accordance with law.
PASSED and APPROVED this the 3rd day of April, A, D. 1978,
