AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT
TO THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS; BEING ALL THAT LOT, TRACT OR
PARCEL OF LAND CONSISTING OF 49.157 ACRES LYING AND BEING
SITUATED IN Denton County and Tarrant COUNTY, STATE OF
TEXAS AND BEING IN THE Wm. H. Pea&W. Medlin SURVEY; CLASSIFY-
ING THE SAME AS Planned Office Park USE PROPERTY; AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the request for annexation was presented to the
Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas, on a petition
of International Business Machines Corporation ; and
WHEREAS, an opportunity was afforded at two public hear-
ings for that purpose on April 8, 1985, and on May 8, 1985
for all interested persons to state their views and
present evidence bearing upon the annexation provided by this
ordinance; and
WHEREAS, notice of the public hearings were published in
a newspaper in accordance with Article 970a, Section 6, revised,
of Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes.
NOW THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE,
TEXAS HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.
That this tract of land described by metes and bounds on
Exhibit "A", is hereby annexed to the Town of Westlake, Texas
and the same is made a part of said town and the land and any
present and future inhabitants shall be entitled to all the
rights and privileges of other citizens of said town and shall
be bound by the acts and ordinances of said town now in effect

or which may hereafter be enacted. This tract of land shall
be subject to and shall bear its pro -rata part of the taxes
levied by the town. The tract of land hereby annexed is de-
scribed on Exhibit "A" which is part of and attached to this
ordinance.
SECTION II.
This tract of land described on Exhibit "A" is hereby
classified as "P" -Planned Office Park use property and shall
appear on the official zoning map of the Town of Westlake,
Texas, which map shall be amended accordingly.

COUNTIES OF TARRANT AND DENTON ANNEXATION PETITION
STATE OF TEXAS
COMES NOW, International Business Machines Corporation and
hereby requests the Town of Westlake, Texas, to annex property
owned by it which is described by metes and bounds attached hereto
and incorporated herein (the "Loftis Tract" ) . The said Loftis
Tract is vacant or inhabited by less than three qualified voters
and is contiguous and adjacent to the Town of Westlake and is
within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the Town of Westlake.
This petition is conditioned on the Town of Westlake ' s approval
of International Business Machines Corporation' s Application for
Zoning. Such petition requests that the Loftis Tract be added
to the adjacent tract owned by Petitioner which is zoned "P" -
Planned Office Park.

Being a tract containing 49.157 acres located in the W. Medlin Survey,
Abstract No. 1958, Tarrant County, Texas, and the William H. Pea Survey,
Abstract No. 1045, Denton County, Texas, said tract being all of a called
49.0997 acre tract described in a deed from Dallas Market Center Hotel
Company to International Business Machines Corporation on the 15th day of
October, 1982, recorded in Volume 7376, Page 1728, Deed Records of
Tarrant County, Texas, said 49. 157 acre tract being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the south right-of-way of State Highway 114, being
the northeast corner of said 49.157 acre tract;
THENCE South 00°14'02" West with the east boundary line of said 49.157 acre
tract a distance of 1223.84 feet to a 3/4-inch iron rod found for corner;
THENCE North 89°54'49" East, 71.63 feet to a 1-inch galvanized iron pipe
found for corner;
THENCE South 00°28'30" West, 228.64 feet to a 1-inch iron pipe in fence
found for corner;
THENCE South 88035'58" West, along said fence, 412.22 feet to a 3/8-inch
iron rod found in fence corner;
THENCE South 89048'34" West, along said fence, 1124.78 feet to a 1/2-inch
iron rod found in fence corner, being on the east right-of-way of Precinct
Line Road;
