HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 136 Annexing 548.106 acres in William Huff SurveyNO. 136 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS; BEING ALL THAT LOT, TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND CONSISTING OF 548.106 ACRES LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN TARRANT COUNTY AND DENTON COUNTY , STATE OF TEXAS AND BEING IN THE WILLIAM HUFF SURVEY; CLASSIFYING THE SAME AS LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL USE PROPERTY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the request for annexation was presented to the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas, on a petition of C. H. Mercer and Paul A. Hope, Trustee ; and WHEREAS, an opportunity was afforded at a public hearing held for that purpose on March 4, 1985 , for all interested persons to state their views and present evidence bearing upon the annexation provided by this ordinance; and WHEREAS, notice of public hearing has been published in a newspaper in accordance with Article 970a. NOW THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION I. That this tract of land described by metes and bounds on Exhibit "A", is hereby annexed to the Town of Westlake, Texas and the same is made a part of said town and the land and any present and future inhabitants shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens of said town and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said town now in effect or which may hereafter be enacted. This tract of land shall be subject to and shall bear its pro -rata part of the taxes levied Page 1 of 2 by the town. The tract of land hereby annexed is described on Exhibit "A" which is part of and attached to this ordinance. SECTION II. This tract of land described on Exhibit "A" is hereby classified as Low Density Residential use property and shall appear on the official zoning map of the Town of Westlake, Texas, which map shall be amended accordingly. SECTION III. Police patrolling, fire protection and ambulance service will be provided at a level substantially equivalent to the level of services provided other areas of the Town; that is, the Denton County and Tarrant County Sheriff's Offices, and the Roanoke and Southlake Volunteer Fire Departments. Routine maintenance of Dublic roads and streets on the same basis as in the present Town will be provided upon the effective date of annexation. No capital improvements are necessary to provide municipal services to the area. PASSED AND APPROVED this the day of A.D. 19 . DALE L.
