D. 1957, pursuant to the provisions of Title 28, Revised Civil Statutes, the Election Code of the ,State of Texas, and Resolution No,✓2, heretofore adopted on the` --27t _day of February, A. D. 1957, after dxe notice as by law provided, the General Election to Elect a Mayor, Five Aldermen and a Marshal for a term of one year was held within the limits of the Town of Westlake, Texas; and WHEREAS, on they /.J 76 day of April, A. D. 19573 at a meeting of the Board of Aldermen of said Town, the results of said Election were canvassed by the 11,1ayor in the presence of the Board of Aldermen and said canvas showed the result thereof was as follows; FOR 1 AYOR John A. McGuire 20 Votes FOR ALDERMEN R. B. Schooling 21 Votes Ben A. Zwald 21 Votes George *. Harmon Jr.21 Votes E. T. Dicker 21 Votes H. S. Thrasher 21 Votes FOR M—ARSHAL E. E. Garrett 20 Votes THEREFORE BF IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERAZEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS: THAT, the canvas of the result of said election, be and is hereby approved, and that John A. McGuire having received the highest number of votes for the office of Mayor is hereby elected to said office and is to serve as such officer for the term of one year from date hereof or until his successor is duly elected and qualified. THAT, R. B. ,Schooling, Ben A. Zwald, George A. Harmon Jr., E. T. Dicker and H. S. Thrasher having received the highest number of votes for the Office of Councilmen and E. E. Garrett having received the highest number of votes for Marshal are hereby elected to said offices and are to serve as such officers for the term of one year from date hereof or until tineir successors are duly elected and qualified. THAT, all such officers are hereby instructed to take the oath of office as by law provided and file such oaths with the Town Secretary. ADOPTED -bilis 13 day of April, A. D. 1957. ATS EST:. -2-
