HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 89-03 Oppossed to the "South Alternate" as the Alignment for the Roanoke By-PassRESOLUTION NO. 3-89 WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen has previously adopted a Resolution supporting the "North Alternate"of the Roanoke By -Pass (Alternate B or Church route) for the improvement of State Highway 114; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen has considered all the feasible alternatives for the S.H. 114 free -way improvements and believes that the "North Alternate" is the most technically and economically feasible alternative; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS_ THAT the most prudent use of public funds of the State and United States government; the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the Town of Westlake and surrounding communities; the equitable distribution of the benefits and burdens of such proposed freeway improvements indicate that the "North Alternate" is the appropriate alignment for the S.H. 114 freeway improvements and the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation is hereby respectfully and urgently requested to adopt the "North Alternate" of the Roanoke By -Pass (Alternate B or Church route) as the alignment for the Roanoke By -Pass of the S.H. 114 freeway improvements; AND FURTHERMORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS: THAT the Town of Westlake it totally against and vehemently opposed to the "South Alternate" as the alignment for the Roanoke By -Pass.
