RESOLUTION NO. 97-51
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF
WESTLAKE, TEXAS APPROVING AND ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO
THE AMENDED AND RESTATED LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB AND THE TOWN
OF WESTLAKE TO ALLOW WESTLAKE OFFICIALS, OFFICERS, AND.
EMPLOYEES TO FILE COMPLAINTS IN MUNICIPAL COURT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake ("Westlake") and the Town of Trophy
Club ("Trophy Club") have executed an Amended and Restated Law Enforcement
Services Agreement which includes provisions concerning the "Municipal Court", and
WHEREAS, Westlake is desirous of amending the agreement so that any
official, officer, or employee of Westlake can file a complaint in the Municipal Court with
regard to any violation of laws or ordinances in Westlake that result in a misdemeanor
subject to the jurisdiction of the Municipal Court, NOW, TBEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF
WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION/: That the Board authorizes an amendment to Section 5 "Municipal
Court" of the Amended and Restated Law Enforcement Services Agreement between the
Town of Trophy Club and the Town of Westlake to permit Westlake officials, officers,
and employees to file complaints and/or citations in the Trophy Club Municipal Court
acting as the Municipal Court for the Town of Westlake for class "C" misdemeanor
violations of Westlake's ordinances or state law. The Board further authorizes the Mayor
or Mayor Pro Tem to execute such amendment on behalf of Westlake.
SECTION 2: That the resolution shall become effective upon its passage and
approval and the amendment shall become effective upon its execution by Westlake and
Trophy Club.
