HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 226 Amending Lone Star Gas RatesORDINANCE NO. 226 AN ORDINANCE OF "LIRE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 225 REVISING THE RATES OF LONE STAR GAS COMPANY IN THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS; AND DECLARING -AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen adopted Ordinance No. 225 on September 12, 1994 which revised the rates of Lone Star Gas Company within Westlake, and WHEREAS, the cities within Lone Star Gas Company's Mid -Cities Distribution System have reached an agreement with Lone Star Gas on the amount of increase/ decrease in revenues and the revision of the rates; and WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake needs to amend previously adopted Ordinance No. 225 by amending Sections I, III, and IV of said Ordinance so as to implement the rates agreed to by the cities and Lone Star Gas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS: Section 1. That Sections I, III, and IV of Ordinance No. 225 passed on September 12, 1994, and hereinafter amended to read as follows: I. That the rates, tariffs, and charges for Lone Star Gas Company (LSGC) for gas services sold within the Town be revised to decrease $3,690 annually, which is a component of the Mid - Cities Distribution System annual revenue increase of $675,635. Such schedules of rates, as are approved in accordance herewith, are those under which said LSCC shall be authorized to render gas service and to collect charges from its customers for the sale of gas service and energy within the corporate limits of Town until such time as said Rate Schedules may be changed, modified, amended, or withdrawn, with the approval of the Board of Aldermen. This ordinance also approves the elimination of the Rate Schedule for Public Free Schools -- N and the placement of the customers receiving said rate on the commercial rate set forth in the schedules and tariffs filed with Town. The rates approved hereby shall be effective with gas bills rendered on and after October 20, 1994, and enforced as of the date hereof, and shall be charged and observed thereafter until revised according to law. IV. That LSCC shall file with Town within ten (10)days hereof a revised Schedule of Rates and Tariffs setting forth those rates, tariffs, and charges based upon such increase in total operating revenues as prescribed herein. The rate design implemented by such schedules and tariffs shall be in accordance with Schedule 3 attached hereto. Such Schedule of Rates and Tariffs may be modified or amended by the Board of Aldermen within tern. (10) days from the date of filing with Town, otherwise same shall be considered approved as filed. Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon its passage and approval.
