HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 214 Canvassing the May 7, 1994 General ElectionORDINANCE NO. 214 AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS OF ELECTION HELD ON MAY 7, 1994, TO ELECT A MAYOR AND TWO ALDERMEN. THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. That the Board of Aldermen officially finds and determines that an election duly ordered to be held in the Town of Westlake, Texas, on the 7th day of May, 1994, for the purpose of electing a Mayor for a two (2) year term and two (2) aldermen for two year terms for the Town of Westlake; that proper notice of said election was duly given; that proper election officers were duly appointed prior to said election; that said election was duly held; that due returns of the result of said election have been made and delivered; and that the Board of Aldermen has duly canvassed said returns; all in accordance with law. SECTION 2. That the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake officially finds and determines that only resident, qualified electors of said Town were allowed to vote at said election and the following votes were cast at said election for each candidate and write-in, there being no other person receiving any votes at this election. MAYOR: Scott Bradley Howard Dudley Carroll Huntress votes votes — — votes SECTION 3. That the Board of Aldermen officially finds, determines and declares the results of said election to be that Scott Bradley is elected Mayor for a two (2) year term, and Howard Dudley and Carroll Huntress are elected as Aldermen for two (2) year terms, and each received the proper number of votes to be elected, and that each of them are elected to said Board in accordance with law.
