HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 238 Validation of certain actions as it relates to annexationsORDINANCE NO. 238 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TERAS, RELATING TO THE VALIDATION OF CERTAIN ACTIONS OF THE TOWN AS IT RELATES TO ANNEXATIONS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Town. of Westlake has annexed certain tracts of land over the past year upon the petition of the landowners; and WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake adopted an ordinance on May 9, 1994, converting from a Type B general law municipality to a Type A general law municipality; and WHEREAS, the Town desires to reaffirm and validate its prior actions concerning annexations so that it is clear that it approved such annexations in its capacity as a Type A general law municipality; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1: VALIDATION. All ordinances, orders, and other acts or attempted acts of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake or any official of the Town authorized to act on behalf of the Town relating to annexations, zoning, or other matters in regard to the annexations of the Bradshaws property, the Brown property, the Mahan property, the Medford property, the Bush property, Tracts 1 thru 12 of the Carpenter Addition, and the Noack property are validated in all respects. All such ordinances, orders, or other acts or attempted acts of the Board of Aldermen are valid as though they originally had been legally authorized or accomplished. SECTION 2: EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and approval.
