AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, REPEALING
THOSE PORTIONS OF ORDINANCE 210 WHICH ADOPTED THE UNIFORM
BUILDING CODE, 1991, WITH ANY 1993 SUPPLEMENTS, THE UNIFORM
MECHANICAL CODE, 1991, WITH ANY 1993 SUPPLEMENTS, AND THE
UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1991, WITH ANY 1993 SUPPLEMENTS; AND
ADOPTING BY THIS ORDINANCE THE MOST CURRENT EDITIONS OF
THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, AND
UNIFORM FIRE CODE WITH ANY APPROVED AMENDMENTS; PROVIDING
A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENAL CLAUSE; AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That Ordinance 210 which adopted the Uniform Building Code,
1991, with any 1993 Supplements and the amendments to certain sections as set forth in
Exhibit "A" attached to Ordinance 210, the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1991, with any
1993 Supplements, and the Uniform Fire Code, 1991, with any 1993 Supplements is
hereby repealed.
SECTION 2: That the Board of Aldermen hereby adopts in their entirety the
most recently published editions of the Uniform Building Code, the Uniform Mechanical
Code, and the Uniform Fire Code with the most recently published Supplements to such
Codes, and do hereby establish for the Town of Westlake that it shall utilize, as the
adopted codes of the Town, the most recently published editions of said Uniform Codes.
SECTION 3: That no person, firm, corporation or other entity shall perform any
work or supply any materials falling within the jurisdiction of one of the respective Codes
adopted herein without first having secured a permit in accordance with the applicable
Code.
SECTION 4: That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion
of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such shall be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent
provision and such holding shall not affect validity of the remaining portions thereof.
SECTION 5: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this
ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6: That any person, either by himself or agent, and any firm,
corporation or other entity who violates any of the provisions of the codes adopted herein
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction of any such violation,
shall be fined in any sum not to exceed the maximum fine permitted under the laws of the
Ordinance Adopting Current Uniform Building, Mechanical and Fire Codes

State of Texas; and each day during which such violation continues shall constitute a
separate and distinct offense. In any case of a violation of any of the terms and
provisions of the codes adopted by the ordinance, by any corporation, the officers and
agents actively in charge of the business of such corporation shall be subject to the
penalty herein provided.
SECTION 7: That this ordinance becomes effective upon its passage and
approval.
