AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL
ELECTION HELD ON AUGUST 9, 1997, TO ELECT TWO (2) ALDERMEN TO
FILL THE UNEXPIRED TERMS OF TWO VACANCIES ON THE BOARD OF
ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH SECTION 22.010 OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE.
THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE TOWN OF
WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That the Board of Aldermen officially finds and determines that an
election duly ordered to be held in the Town of Westlake, Texas, on the 9' day of August,
I997, for the purpose of electing two (2) Aldermen to fill the unexpired terms of two
vacancies on the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake; that proper notice of the
election was duly given; that proper election officers were duly appointed prior to the
election; that the election was duly held; that due returns of the result of the election have
been made and delivered; and that the Board of Aldermen has duly canvassed the returns;
all in accordance with law.
SECTION 2: That the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake officially
finds and determines that only resident, qualified electors of the Town were allowed to
vote at the election and the following votes were cast at the election for each candidate
and write-in, there being no other person receiving any votes at this election.
ALDERMEN: Jerry Dinsmore 65 votes
David A. Loeser 65 votes
SECTION 3: That the Board of Aldermen officially finds, determines and
declares the results of the election to be that Jerry Dinsmore and David A. Loeser are
elected as Aldermen to the unexpired terms, and each received the proper number of
votes to be elected; and that each of them are elected to the Board in accordance with law.
PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 11TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1997.
