AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, AMENDING ARTICLE
II, SECTION 11 OF THE WESTLAKE UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT CODE BY
EXPANDING THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF WESTLAKE TO
FIVE (5) MEMBERS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake, Texas presently has a three (3) member Planning
and Zoning Commission (the "Commission"), and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen desires to expand the Commission to five members
in order to resolve problems with regard to obtaining a quorum for the meetings of the
Commission and to allow additional people to serve on the Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That Article II, Section I I "Planning and Zoning Commission", Subsection
A "Creation and Membership" of the Unified Development Code of Westlake, Texas, is
hereby amended to here after read as follows:
A. Creation and Membership
There is hereby created a Planning and Zoning Commission for the Town
of Westlake consisting of five (5) members, each to be appointed by the
Board for a term of two (2) years and removable for cause. The terms of
three (3) members shall expire in odd numbered years, and the terms of two
(2) members shall expire in even numbered years. Each member shall
continue to serve until his/her successor is appointed and qualified.
SECTION 2: That this ordinance shall become effective from and after the date
of its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 9`h DAY OF JUNE, 1997.
