AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF
WESTLAKE, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE WESTLAKE ENGINEERING DESIGN
STANDARDS AS AMENDED BY THE REVISIONS TO ARTICLES I AND II;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake adopted revised
Engineering Design Standards for the Town on September 28, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the Town's planning and development consultants recommended
removing certain roadway design standards from the Westlake Comprehensive Plan,
amending such standards, and incorporating them into the Westlake Engineering Design
Standards; and
WHEREAS, on November 23, 1998, the Board of Aldermen of the Town of
Westlake approved the revisions to Articles I and II of the Westlake Engineering Design
Standards in order to implement the recommendations of the consultants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That the Westlake Engineering Design Standards as amended by
the previously approved revisions to Article I and II, said Standards being attached hereto
as Exhibit "1" and incorporated herein for all purposes, are hereby adopted as the
Engineering Design Standards for the Town of Westlake.
SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall become effective upon its passage and
approval.
SECTION 3: If any portion of this Ordinance shall, for any reason, be declared
invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining provisions hereof and the Board hereby determines that it would have adopted
this Ordinance without the invalid provision.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Board of Aldermen of the Town of
Westlake, Texas, on this 14"' day of December, 1998.
