PRESENT: President Stephen Thornton, Laurel Mason, Rob Meyer, Paula Thornton, Daniel Zipperlen
ABSENT: Wanda Brewster, Jon White
OTHERS PRESENT: Abby Bosworth, Ginger Awtry, Susan McFarland
1. CALL TO ORDER.
President Thornton called the meeting to order at 7:12 P.M.
2. REVIEW AND APPROVE MINUTES OF THE WHPS MEETING HELD ON MARCH 25, 2014.
Member Thornton read the minutes. President Thornton asked for a motion to approve.
MOTION: Member Mason made a motion to approve the minutes. Member Meyer seconded
the motion. The motion carried.
3. BOARD OFFICERS AND CHAIR POSITIONS:
President Thornton appointed Laurel Mason as Curator chair for the Westlake Museum.
Treasurer's Report:
There was no Treasurer's report due to Member Brewster's absence.
a) Membership
Member Mason will coordinate with Debbie Piper to discuss membership and automatic
renewal and credit card acceptance.

b) Spring Historical Marker Dedication Day
A suggestion by Mayor Laura Wheat to include Westlake Academy for this event was
discussed and it was agreed that an alternative date be found for Dedication Day if at all
possible.
Decoration Day will beheld Monday, May 26, from G]J0to8:03P.M.aithe Odd Fellows
Cemetery onOttinBerRoad. The Board discussed placing a3hunnardOak atthe cemetery
and adding irrigation for the plantings. The Board also discussed advertising and sponsorship
suggestions made by Ginger Awtry.
President Thornton asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting.
MOTION: Member Meyer made amotion toadjourn the meeting. Member Zippedenseconded
the motion. The motion carried.
President Thornton adjourned the meeting at 8:33 P.M.
