ORDINANCE NO. 1046
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS,
CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL
ELECTION HELD ON MAY 2, 2026, FOR THE ELECTION OF A MAYOR, COUNCIL
MEMBER PLACE 2 AND COUNCIL MEMBER PLACE 4 TO THE WESTLAKE TOWN
COUNCIL TO TWO-YEAR TERMS EXPIRING MAY 2028
WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake, Texas, is a Type A general-law municipality located
in Tarrant and Denton Counties, created in accordance with the provision of Chapter 6 of the Local
Government Code and operating pursuant to the enabling legislation of the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council called and ordered the General Election on January 20,
2026 for the purpose of electing a Mayor, Council Member Place 2 and Council Member Place 4
to two-year terms to be held on May 2, 2026 (the “General Election”); and
WHEREAS, the General Election for the Town of Westlake was administered by the
Tarrant County Elections Administrator, and
WHEREAS, it is hereby found and determined that Notice of the Election was duly given
in the form, manner and time required by the Texas Election Code, and said election was in all
respects legally held and conducted in accordance with applicable laws of the State of Texas
governing the holding of such elections; and
WHEREAS, the official returns of the General Election, including the returns of the
absentee and early voting ballots, duly and legally made for electing a Mayor, Council Member
Place 2 and Council Member Place 4 of the Town of Westlake Town Council have been presented
to the Town Council and showed that each of the candidates received the following valid and legal
votes cast at the election:

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Texas Election Code, the candidate for election to each place
on the Town Council who receives the highest number of all votes cast for all the candidates for
each place at the election shall be declared elected.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: CONFIRMATION OF VOTE TABULATIONS. The results of the
General Election as related to the election of Mayor, Council Member Place Two and Council
Member Place Four each for a two-year term to the Town of Westlake Town Council, as canvassed
and tabulated above, reflect the expressed desires of the resident, qualified voters of the Town.
SECTION 2: ELECTION CANVASSED AND DECLARED EFFECTIVE. It is
further found and determined that the results of the election are as canvassed and tabulated in the
preamble hereof and in Exhibit “A” attached hereto.
SECTION 3: ELECTED OFFICIALS; TERMS OF OFFICE. In accordance with the
canvass and tabulation of the results of the General Election, the duly elected Mayor and Council
Members elected on May 2, 2026, and the corresponding terms of office, subject to the taking of
the oaths of office as required by State Law, are declared elected as follows:
