HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 25-50 Authorizing Driven for Westlake Fire EMS Station No 1 and Public Works SecurityTOWN OF WESTLAKE RESOLUTION NO. 25-50 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH DRIVEN SECURITY FOR UPDATING THE SECURITY SYSTEMS, INCLUDING CAMERAS AND ACCESS CONTROL, AT THE WESTLAKE FIRE EMS STATION NO. 1 AND THE PUBLIC WORKS FACILITIES; AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE CONTRACT BY THE TOWN MANAGER USING FUNDS ALLOCATED IN THE FY 2025-2026 MUNICIPAL BUDGET. WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake maintains critical facilities including the Fire EMS Station No. 1 and Public Works Facilities that require reliable, modern security systems to protect staff, equipment, and the public; and WHEREAS, the Town has determined that the current security infrastructure—such as monitoring and surveillance systems, and access control at the Municipal Court—is outdated and requires modernization to ensure the safety of judges, staff, and the public; and WHEREAS, budgetary funds are available in the Municipal Court Building and Security Fund to finance such upgrades; and WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Westlake does hereby recognize and agree that updating the Municipal Court security system is beneficial and necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That all matters stated in the Recitals hereinabove are found to be true and correct and are incorporated herein by reference as if copied in their entirety. SECTION 2: That the Town does hereby authorize the Town Manager to execute the contract with Driven Security for updating the Municipal Court security system utilizing the Municipal Court Building and Security Fund in an amount not to exceed $110,000. SECTION 3: If any portion of this Resolution shall, for any reason, be declared invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining provisions hereof Resolution 25-30 Page 2 of 2 and the Council hereby determines that it would have adopted this Resolution without the invalid provision. SECTION 4: That this Resolution shall become immediately effective from and after its date of passage.
