RESOLUTION NO. 04-38
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE MISSION AND GOALS STATEMENT OF THE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE WESTLAKE ACADEMY FOUNDATION, AND
RESOLVING RELATED MATTERS
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Westlake Academy Foundation have developed
a mission and goals statement, attached hereto as Exhibit "A"
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake have been actively
involved with the development of the Westlake Academy and Foundation
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The findings and declarations contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
hereby incorporated as part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2. This Board of Aldermen hereby approves the Westlake Academy Foundation
mission and goals statement, attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED ON THIS 26TH DAY OF JULY 2004.

Westlake Academy Foundation
" a convergence of quality"
MISSION and GOALS STATEMENT
The Westlake Academy Foundation is a tax exempt, not for profit,
501(c) 3 (pending) corporation created by the Town of Westlake.
I MISSION STATEMENT
The Board of Alderman of the Town of Westlake established the
Westlake Academy Foundation in 2001 to raise funds to be used to
promote the advancement of educational excellence in teaching,
programs and facilities of the Westlake Academy.
II GOALS
The Westlake Academy Foundation offers the community of Westlake
an opportunity to become involved with and contribute to the success
of each child that attends the Westlake Academy Charter School by
raising funds to:
1) Attract and retain the best quality teachers, domestic and
abroad.
2) Supplement classroom resources with proven innovative
teaching materials and programs.
3) Support capital projects for campus expansion and
improvement.
III OBJECTIVES
A. Create a Westlake Academy Teacher Endowment Fund.
B. Assist international teacher move -in and set-up costs as
identified by Head of School and/or CEO.
C. Plan, sponsor and promote a minimum of one fund raising
event per year.
D. Develop a system to identify, evaluate and apply for
available grant moneys throughout the world.
E. Establish a system whereby Westlake Academy teachers
may apply for Westlake Academy Foundation internal
grants for innovative and supplemental educational
equipment and programming.
F. Establish a "Special Needs" fund to be used for the
academic and extracurricular needs of special needs
students as requested by the Head of School and/or CEO.
G. Provide teacher travel stipends for International
Baccalaureate training and certifications.
H. Provide an annual report to the Town of Westlake Board of
Alderman.
Contributions to the Westlake Academy Foundation are tax-deductible
and may be offered as:

➢ Planned Giving
➢ Matched Giving
➢ Designated Endowment
