ORDINANCE NO. 494
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL
CODE(NEC), 2005.
WHEREAS, the NEC 2005 is the latest edition of the National Electrical Code available for
adoption and use, within the municipality of Westlake; and
WHEREAS, this code will provide a consistent standard for the Building Department to
work effective and efficiently with all electricians who install, construct, alter, remodel, or build
electrical devises, within the municipality; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Municipal League, {TML) and the North Central Texas Council of
Government (COG) recommend the adoption of this document; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That all matters stated in the preamble are found to be true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
SECTION 2. That the Town Manager is instructed to proceed with the adoption and
implementation of the National Electrical Code (NEC) 2005 into the organizations of the Town of
Westlake.
SECTION 3. That the Town Manager is instructed to proceed with the training of staff
members in the understanding and utilization of The National Electrical Code (NEC) 2005. Such
training will incorporate the proper documentation and changes necessary for compliance.
SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon
passage.
SECTION 5. That if any provision of this Ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional, then the remainder of such Ordinance shall remain in full force and effect as if
separately enacted.
