HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 20-39 Authorizing a Maximum GMP for Westlake Fire/EMS Station No. 1TOWN OF WESTLAKE RESOLUTION NO.20-39 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL TO AUTHORIZE THE TOWN MANAGER TO AMENDING THE GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE (GMP) OF $9,737,281 to $10,039,787($302,506) WITH CORE CONSRUCTION AND APPROVING ALL CONSTRUCTION CHANGE ORDERS FOR THE WESTLAKE FIRE -EMS STATION NO. 1 PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake will be constructing a new 18,000 square foot Fire - EMS House 1; and, WHEREAS, the Council desires to provide stakeholders with an iconic looking fire station that serves the emergency services needs of the community and meets the community building standards; and, WHEREAS, the valued engineered alternates being added back into the project where critical to the function of the station; and, WHEREAS, the amending the FY 2020-2021 budget by transferring $40,539 from the FY 2020-2021 Capital Projects 410 fund balance to the Westlake Fire -EMS Station No. 1 project fund 405; and, WHEREAS, the Town Council finds the passage of this Resolution is in the best interest of the citizens of Westlake. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That, all matters stated in the Recitals hereinabove are found to be true and correct and are incorporated herein by reference as if copied in their entirety. SECTION 2: That, the Westlake Town Council does hereby authorize the Town Manager to amend the original guaranteed maximum price (GMP) with Core Construction for the manager at -risk services establishing a guaranteed maximum price for the Westlake Fire -EMS Station No. l project attached as Exhibit "A". SECTION 3: That the Town of Westlake Town Council does hereby approve all construction change orders for the Westlake Fire -EMS Station No. 1 project, attached as Exhibit <<B„ Resolution 20-39 Page 1 of 2 SECTION 4: If any portion of this Resolution shall, for any reason, be declared invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining provisions hereof and the Council hereby determines that it would have adopted this Resolution without the invalid provision. SECTION 5: That this resolution shall become effective from and after its date of passage. PASSED AND APPROVED ON THIS 14th DAY OF DECEMBER 2020.
