PRESENT: President Bert Schultz, Megan Brady, Wanda Brewster, Kristi Layton, Karen Stoltenberg,
Stephen Thornton

1. CALL TO ORDER.
President Schultz called the meeting to order at 1:08 P.M.
2. MEETING MINUTES
Member Stoltenberg reviewed the minutes.
MOTION: Member Thornton made a motion to approve the minutes. Member Brewster
seconded the motion. The motion carried.
3. TREASURER'S REPORT
Member Layton read the Treasurer's Report. WHPS has a net income of $3737.53, with
membership dues being the biggest piece.
MOTION: Member Brewster made a motion to approve the Treasurer's Report as read.
Member Brady seconded the motion. The motion carried.
4. MEMBERSHIP REPORT
Member Layton gave the Membership Report. We had several renewals, Member Layton thinks
it was due to the mail out, it was just a little delayed. We had one new one from John Schilsky
of Stratus, and he responded with a membership and a book. Bert will email copies of both the
Treasurer's Report and the Membership Report to everyone on the Board.

a) Decoration Day Program –The Board discussed, reviewed and changed some
parts of the timeline of events. There will be a pie eating contest in lieu of the
bike parade. The Board will arrive at 4:00 to get everything set up. Ginger Awtry
gave a brief report on the marketing being done to advertise the event.
President Schultz will email Pastor Brewer to see if he can give the invocation and
benediction.
b) Fall Historical Marker Dedication – The next marker will be "The Cross Timbers
Area" at Westlake Academy.
c) 3rd Q Window Exhibit (Time Passages) – President Schultz will remove the Pony
Express and put in the Antique Clocks exhibit. Board Members should bring in
any old clocks they have. For the 4th quarter, we will do a tribute to the SOth
anniversary of JFK.
d) WHPS Future Board Composition - Several ideas for Board Members were
discussed, and President Schultz asked all retiring Board Members to help recruit
new Board Members. President Schultz has composed a letter to send to the
membership, asking for Board Member interest. He is going to send it to the
Board via email and would like everyone to provide feedback. Both President
Schultz and Member Stoltenberg will be at the next WHPS meeting in August.
The next meeting will be held Monday, August 26, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Museum.
MOTION: Member Brady made a motion to adjourn the meeting. President Schultz seconded
the motion. The motion carried. President Schultz adjourned the meeting.
