HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 07-02 Adopting a Site Plan for the Expansion of the Solana MarriottTOWN OF WESTLAKE RESOLUTION NO. 07-02 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS, ADOPTING A SITE PLAN FOR PD -X, THE SOLANA MARRIOTT HOTEL EXPANSION, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Solana Marriot Hotel zoning was established and adopted by the Town of Westlake in Ordinance No. 146 in 1986; and WHEREAS, the original PD -1 zoning which approved the Office Park/Hotel use did not require submittal of a Site Plan; and WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake has adopted new standards that require submission of a Site Plan for any mixed use Planned Development as effected in Section 102-243 of the Town of Westlake Code of Ordinances; and WHEREAS, Maguire Partners, owners of the Marriott Hotel now seek to expand the hotel; and WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake welcomes the opportunity to support the growth and development of the Solana development and particularly the Marriott Hotel; and WHEREAS, Maguire Partners now seeks approval of their submitted Site Plan which is consistent with the current requirements of Section 102-243, of the Town of Westlake Code of Ordinances, to accommodate the requested expansion of the hotel; and WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake Planning and Zoning Commission has approved the requested Site Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the above findings are hereby found to be true and correct and are incorporated herein in the entirety. SECTION 2. That approval is subject to submittal and staff approval of a grading plan, a tree mitigation/landscape plan and a lighting plan. SECTION 3. The Board hereby finds and determines that it is in the best interest of the Town, its residents and businesses to support the proposed expansion of the Marriott Hotel by approving the Site Plan, attached as Exhibit "A", and directing that this Site Plan be filed with the permanent records of the Town.
