THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
TEXAS STUDENT HOUSING CORPORATION — DENTON PROJECT
November 21, 2019

PRESENT: Board members Scott Bradley, James Krekow, Paula Petersen, Mark
Harrow, Rich Mueller, Katie Kolkmeier, and Executive Director Tracy
Harrow. Not Present: Randall Quick
1. CALL TO ORDER.
President Bradley called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
2. CONSIDER AND TAKE ACTION TO HIRE ATTORNEYS AND OTHER
PROFESSIONALS TO REPRESENT THE CORPORATION IN CONNECTION WITH
THE CONDEMNATION OF PARCELS 107 AND 115 PROPOSED TO BE TAKEN
FROM THE CORPORATION BY TXDOT IN THE CITY OF DENTON.
DISCUSSION: The Board received and discussed a proposal from Dawson and Sodd
LLP concerning the retention of attorneys and other professionals to
represent the Corporation in connection with the condemnation of
parcels 107 and 115. President Bradley stated that in his capacity as
General Counsel he had interviewed four different law firms
specializing in condemnation representation, and was of the opinion
that Dawson and Sodd was the best choice of those interviewed.
Director Mueller made a motion to hire Dawson and Sodd for the
services outlined in the proposal. Director Harrow seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously.
3. ADJOURNMENT
President Bradley adjourned the meeting at 6:48 pm.
