CITIZEN COMMENTS: This is an opportunity for citizens to address the Council on any matter whether or not it is posted on the agenda. Any person desiring to make a public comment must first be recognized by the presiding officer, and sign in at the podium with their name and address. Individual citizen comments are normally limited to three (3) minutes; however, time limits can be adjusted by the presiding officer. The presiding officer may ask the citizen to hold their comment on an agenda item if the item is posted as a Public Hearing. The Council cannot by law take action nor have any discussion or deliberations on any presentation made to the Council at this time concerning an item not listed on the agenda. Staff will present a slide deck containing photos of the various sites along with discussion regarding the consultants we utilized during the trips. While in Colorado, we also had the opportunity to visit the Charles Schwab campus and discuss service delivery impacts for the Lone Tree community with the town manager of the municipality. Legislation was successfully introduced that curtailed the regulation of building materials, filing applications, school finance and school safety, the collection of franchise fees, cyber security training and establishing tax rates. There were more than 2,000 city-related bills introduced and more than 330 of those bills passed. As a portion of our discussion regarding our Comprehensive Plan and development, certain bills were approved that may affect our processes in the future.
