HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 09-40 Authorizing a Contract with Building Code Consulting Services TOWN OF WESTLAKE RESOLUTION 09-40 AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH "BUILDING CODE CONSULTING SERVICES, LLC" FOR THIRD- PARTY PLAN REVIEW AND INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE DELOITTE EDUCATION AND CONFERENCE CENTER PROJECT. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TO1VNOF WESTLAKE, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That the ToNvn Council of the Town of Westlake, Texas, does hereby authorize the Town Manager to enter into a contract with Building Code Consulting Services, LLC for third-party plan review and inspection services for the Deloitte Education and Conference Center project. Approximately 760,000 square feet Dear Mr. Edwards: Building Code Consulting Services proposes to provide Third Party Commercial Plan Review and Inspection Services for the buildings at the above referenced addresses, subject to the terms and conditions listed herein. The total cost herein is contingent upon BCCS' work commencing on or before August 31, 2008 and concluding by December 31, 2011. Work performed beyond the conclusion date, or beyond the scope of this Proposal, may be subject to re- negotiation. Pian Review services are Intended to replicate the services offered by the City's Building Inspection Department. • Pricing is an all Inclusive negotiated fee for the services detailed in the Scope of Work PLAN REVIEW. CCS Plan Review will be performed to confirm that provided construction documents have been prepared so as to comply with the requirements of: • 2006 International Building Code — • 2006 International Plumbing Code • 2006 International Fuel Gas Code • 2006 International Mechanical Code 2006 National Electric Code • Provisions of the Town of Westlake Municipal Code which amend or augment these codes The Plan Review provided by BCCS on documents prepared by, and which bear the Seal of, a Professional Engineer is only a confirmation that the design professional utilized the correct Edition and provisions of the code in preparing the design. THIRD PARTY INSPECTIONS: BCCS Inspections shall be performed at the intervals and in a manner to emulate the inspection process of the jurisdiction. The inspection process proposed Is for the Inspection of improvements wholly contained within the property boundaries and does not Include Inspections of infrastructure improvements In Easements or Public Rights-of-Way. The inspections will be performed prior to cover of work and the scheduling of these inspections is the responsibility of the Contractor. BCCS will perform the Inspections, Indicated below to assure compliance with the Plan Reviewed documents and the requirements of., • 2006 International Building Code • 2006 International Plumbing Code • 2006 International Fuel Gas Code • 2006 International Mechanical Code • 2006 International Fire Cade(this review does not include review of system shop drawings) b 2006 National Electric Code • Provisions of the Town of Westlake Municipal Code which amend or augment these codes EXCLUSIONS • Energy Code Plan Review&Inspections. • BCCS will not be responsible for any fees due to the Town of Westlake,TX or any other entity. • All reviews and inspections exclude State, Federal, County, Health, T.E.A., Civil, Landscape, Irrigation and Zoning regulations. • All items not specifically listed in the SCOPE OF WORK. • All taxes, payment and performance bonds and liquidated damages.
