HomeMy WebLinkAboutAM 20"water line connecting the overhead storage facility TOWN OF WESTLAKE MEMO To: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Board of Aldermen From: Trent Petty, Town Manager Eddie Cheatham, Water and Sewer Engineer Subject: Regular Meeting of February 10, 2003 Date: February 7, 2003 ITEM: Consider a Resolution authorizing Town Manager to enter into a contract for the completion of a 20"water line connecting the overhead storage facility to the existing 20" line. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends approval. BACKGROUND: The elevated water tower, which was constructed in conjunction with the City of Keller, is complete. It is now necessary to construct approximately 2,800 feet of 20" transmission water line to connect the water tower onto the Town water system's existing 20"line. The project was bid on February 7 at 2:00 p.m. Attached is a listing of all of the contractors and their bids. The low bidder on the project was Wilson Contractors with a bid price of $299,500,98. The low bidder is qualified to perform the project and is a good reputable contractor. Therefore, the recommendation is to enter into a contract with Wilson Contractors for the completion of a 20"water line to in the amount of$299,500. The contractor portion of the budget for this project approved by the Board of Aldermen is $326,850. A separate SCADA system will still need to be purchased, but should still allow the project to stay within budget.
