Consider a Resolution authorizing the Town Manager to amend current contract with
Angell's Custom Welding.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff recommends approval.
BACKGROUND
Angell's Custom Welding is the contractor for the construction of the Fire Department
temporary apparatus building. Angell's Custom Welding is requesting a change order for
this contract in the amount of$918.50. This change order is to cover the cost of materials
only for heating equipment and materials for installation of said heating equipment. The
Town will incur no labor cost.
This request for a change order is due to an oversight that occurred in the negotiations for
a reduction in the cost of the temporary building. In those negotiations, which reduced
the size and cost of the building,the amount allowed for heating equipment, installation,
and materials for installation was inadvertently cut from the quote. This is the reason for
the request to increase the cost for the project. The contractor is only requesting material
expenses to be added to the original quote and no additional cost for labor.
Attached is a copy of the letter requesting the change order.
