For consistency purposes, Grade 6 is considered to be MYP, even though in earlier
graduating classes grade 6 was in PYP. Staff children are classified under the
Westlake resident designation.

WA in the MYP, followed by those
students who entered in the PYP and
DP.

graduated in the top 10% entered WA
in PYP, followed by the MYP and DP.

•While there are many variables that can impact student
performance, the data suggests that students who
entered during the PYP have enjoyed more success
when it comes to receiving the diploma (74%) than
those students who entered during the MYP (65%). It
should be noted though that the sample size is smaller
for PYP entrants than MYP entrants.
•For students who enter in Grade 11 and remain, there is
a notable increase in diplomas received compared to
MYP entrants, but the average diploma score is lower
than the historical school average (27.8 to the historical
average of 30).
•For PYP and MYP students who received the diploma,
grade entry level does not appear to have a significant
impact on average diploma score.
*Data is based on each graduating class. Students who joined Westlake Academy
but left before graduation are not shown in this table.
