RESOLUTION NO. 18-40
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO PURCHASE A NEW
AMBULANCE WITH FRAZER, STERLING MCCALL FORD/FRAZER LTD
THROUGH HGAC; AND AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES FOR THE COMPLETION
OF SAID ACQUISITION.
WHEREAS, the Town of Westlake commenced the operation of the Town of Westlake
Fire-EMS Department during May 2002; and
WHEREAS, based on the scope of services provided and the geographic limits of the
Town of Westlake service area, the Town of Westlake Fire-EMS Department must maintain
emergency response vehicles and all associated equipment to provide said services, and
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds and concludes that maintaining reliable
emergency response vehicles is necessary to protect and preserve the public health, safety, and
property of the Town limits; and
WHEREAS, by entering into an agreement with Frazer, Sterling McCall Ford/Frazer
LTD through HGAC, a cooperative purchasing program that satisfies the formal bid process; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that the passage of this Resolution is in the best
interest of the citizens of Westlake.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That, all matters stated in the Recitals hereinabove are found to be true
and correct and are incorporated herein by reference as if copied in their entirety
SECTION 2: That the Town of Westlake Town Council does hereby approve the
proposed quote from Sterling McCall Ford/Frazer LTD, attached as Exhibit "A".
SECTION 3: That the Town Manager, or his designee, is authorized and directed to
enter into an agreement for the acquisition of an ambulance, and all associated equipment, in an
amount not to exceed $260,000. Any actions previously taken by the Town Manager in the
undertaking of this project are hereby ratified and approved.
SECTION 4: If any portion of this Resolution shall, for any reason, be declared invalid
by any court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining provisions
hereof and the Council hereby determines that it would have adopted this Resolution without the
invalid provision.

SECTION 5: That this resolution shall become effective from and after its date of
passage.
