WA Diploma Results
The WA diploma recipient rate for 2018 was 80.6%
It is anticipated that WA will now be equal to or slightly
above the world average recipient rate, after three years of
being below. This is significant given that we continue our
IB for ALL philosophy.
The WA cumulative average diploma recipient rate from
2010 to 2018 is 295(398) or 74.1%.
High performance is lower than last year, suggesting that
high performance will be specific to classes. In 2018 there
were neither extremely high nor extremely low individual
performances.

WA School Statistics
From 2010 to 2018, the average diploma point total for WA
students achieving the diploma is 29.89 points. It has
remained consistent and in line with the world average of
30.0.
2018 has seen a drop in the WA’s average IB score and WA’s
highest point total, but there has clearly been success in
ensuring less strong students receive their diploma.

2018 DP Goals
Increase WA student performance to remain above the world averages in three areas:
diplomas received
average diploma score
average subject score.
Increase student bonus points by focusing on performance for EE/TOK
Coach teachers strategically to help them improve their individual practices.
All DP teachers will be conducting a data dive into their individual components scores to determine specific action plans for improvement. This will serve as their roadmap for the upcoming academic year.
Align student performance across these measures:
Gradebook Predicted Grades DP Scores
Focus on DP assessment throughout the year.
Adjust pacing to allow for more structured exam preparation in April.
