Consider an Apparatus Loan Agreement to facilitate borrowing of Fire and Ambulance
apparatus and equipment from neighboring agencies.
Staff recommends approval of the Agreement, and requests that the Town Manager be
authorized to modify the agreement, if necessary, subject to attorney review of the
modifications, and be authorized to execute the agreement with agencies as deemed
necessary.

Neighboring agencies have offered to allow Westlake to utilize their reserve apparatus
while we await delivery of our new ambulance and brush truck and word from The U.S.
Fire Administration regarding our apparatus grant submittal. The Apparatus Loan
Agreement formalizes the arrangement and serves to protect the interests of both parties.
Our TML Risk Pool representative has indicated that insurance coverage provisions
identified in the contract are satisfactory. A separate exhibit to the agreement will
contain an inventory of all loose equipment provided with each unit.
Southlake and Keller have offered to loan their reserve Engine and Ambulance to
Westlake respectively. The Agreement may be presented to other agencies if necessary,
and may require slight modification of the terms as each agency reviews the document.
Authorizing the Town Manager to modify the agreement if necessary, and execute the
agreement with multiple agencies, will ensure that our borrowed resources are in service
on June I'`.
