If residential development of the 62.5 acre Solana property is the compromise that this Council feels is most appropriate under the circumstances, then Melanie and I support the 56-lot plan dated January 19, 2018, as reflected on the Town’s website and attached below. Our support for this plan is conditioned upon the entire Preservation Buffer Dedication, as depicted on the Plan, being placed into a land trust, conservancy, or other means that legally and unquestionably protects that entire area from any and all future development and thus, ensures that it remains in its native and undisturbed state in perpetuity. This plan, while far from perfect, strikes the most balanced blend between lots south of the ridge line (“the knoll”) and the setback distances from the various Glenwyck properties to the homesites in the Knolls at Solana, taking into consideration the varying degrees of impact from the West side of Glenwyck to the East side. The January 19, 2018, 56-lot configuration coupled with an ironclad Preservation Buffer Dedication zone represents a reasonable settlement of these issues and allows the us to have certainty with respect to our individual properties. Accordingly, if the January 19, 2018, 56- lot configuration and ironclad Preservation Buffer Dedication are approved by the Town Council on Monday, February 26, 2018, the Stevenson family will withdraw from the lawsuit that was filed against the Town of Westlake. Sincerely, Colin & Melanie Stevenson The Knolls at Solana – Wilbow 56 Lot Plan
