Why do we need a UDC?
Westlake is rapidly growing
Growth is outpacing our current regulations that our outdated and need reworking
Easier to update and amend our codes with a UDC
Makes developing in Westlake more straightforward
Make codes congruent with the Comprehensive Plan
Allows staff to be more consistent wit the quality of different developments in Westlake
Reduces redundancies or conflicting codes
Many other cities in the metroplex use a UDC (or version thereof)
◦Keller, North Richland Hills, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Colleyville to name a few
