PRESENT: President Stephen Thornton, Becky Fisher,Tom Miller, Paula Thornton, Jon White and Daniel
Zipperlen
ABSENT: Wanda Brewster,Trish Rapp,
1. CALL TO ORDER.
President Thornton called the meeting to order at 7:21 P.M.
2. REVIEW AND APPROVE MINUTES OF THE WHPS MEETING HELD ON November 15,2016.
Member Fisher read the minutes. President Thornton asked for a motion to approve.
MOTION: Member Fisher made a motion to approve the minutes. President Thornton
seconded the motion. The motion carried.
3. TREASURER'S REPORT.
No report. Member Brewster absent.
4. NEW BUSINESS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS.
Membership Report:
Member Thornton has received an application for membership,as well as payment,from
Joanne Lazarz. Member Thornton will forward both to Wanda Brewster.
Simply Westlake:
Debra Heath has written an article about the Stagecoach Hills Tree Lighting for Simply Westlake.
President Thornton and Ginger Awtry will meet to prepare the article for the Classic Car Show to
have ready for 2017.

Mahotea Boone Dedication:
The date for the Mahotea Boone Historical Marker dedication will be moved from April 15, 2017
to March 25,2017. Members Miller and White recommended research be conducted on the
history of the Native American tribe that lived in the area.
Membership Reception:
The Membership Reception will be held on February 23, 2017.
Stagecoach Hills Tree Lighting:
Member Thornton read the lovely article written by Debra Heath for Simply Westlake. The Tree
Lighting was well attended even with a drizzling rain. Refreshments were provided by the
Thorntons. The tree lighting and Christmas Carols were enjoyed by all.
Future Ideas and Purchases:
No requests.
6. ADJOURNMENT.
As President Thornton had to leave the meeting early,Vice President Zipperlen asked for a
motion to adjourn the meeting.
MOTION: Member White made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Member Miller seconded
the motion. The motion carried.
Vice President Zipperlen adjourned the meeting at 7:48 P.M.
The next scheduled meeting of the Westlake Historical Preservation Society Board will be
Thursday,January 5,2017 at 7:00 PM at the Council Chambers for the Town of Westlake.
