STEM PROJECT
Use your knowledge and understanding of “Renewable Energy” to create a GREEN
MACHINE to celebrate the upcoming holidays.
Relevant RENEWABLE RESOURCES Science Terms: wind, solar, hydro power, geothermal, biofuel, reduce, reuse,
recycle, green, conservation, alternative energy
Challenge Rules:
1.Design and create a “Green Machine”. Your machine must be powered by wind energy,
solar energy, hydro power, geothermal energy, biofuels or a combination of any of the
above.
2.Be creative. . .we challenge you to design your “Green Machine” with a holiday theme. . .
Christmas Tree?? A Grinch Mobile?? Santa’s Sleigh??
3.You are encouraged to repurpose at least 50% of the materials used for your “Green
Machine” as we have discussed the importance of Reduce, Recycle & Reuse.
4.“Green Machine” prototypes are due in class on Friday, December 16th.
THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO COMPLETE THIS CHALLENGE! BE
