PSAT/NMSQT: Preliminary SAT/National Merit
Scholarship Qualifying Test (College Board)
SAT: Scholastic Assessment Test (College Board)
ACT: American College Testing (ACT, Inc.)
Do ACT/SAT scores really matter?
Not Really, but High School GRADES do.
Many colleges have gone to test optional
admissions.
But, many colleges still use these
metrics.
PSAT/NMSQT
Grade 10: The PSAT is used to benchmark student
performance for the SAT. It is a practice test that
assesses the same knowledge and skills as the SAT.
Grade 11: The PSAT/NMSQT is also a practice test, but
this one screens students for the National Merit
Scholarship Program.
WA uses these data points to advise students on next
testing options and the college selection process.
