What is CTE?

Texas Administrative Code 74.3 Description
of a Required Secondary Curriculum states
that a district must offer CTE courses
selected from three of the sixteen career
clusters.
CTE is aligned with HB5 graduation
requirements and endorsements.
Career exploration is also now required at the
middle school level.

CTE Financial Impact
Districts receive 1.35 in weighted
funding for eligible CTE students.
58%of the weighted funding has a
direct expenditure requirement for
CTE.
42%of the weighted funding is for the
unrestricted use of the district.
