Organization Parents were given a Math Exit Ticket, and a game packet that includes directions for each session offered. Students visited their homeroom classroom for 20min, then went to the grade level above for the same amount of time. After these two sessions parents and students participated in hallway activities that included, mathematical puzzles, logic games, mathematical jokes and estimation jars with objects. The Math Exit Ticket was used also to give parents and students the opportunity for feedback on the evening Setting the Scene One teacher met with grade level parents to set the scene by asking parents to: “Think back to the time that you were in elementary school and how you learnt mathematics and the attitudes you had.” “What we would like you to do is join in a game or activity to observe what students do and say. Then ask yourself, “What skill(s) are the students reinforcing? How are students doing this?” “It is important to understand that students do not play games all the time. Activities may be presented through technology, discussion, models and pen and paper work.” Likert Scale Results Approximately 115 adults attended Number of Exit Tickets: 85 Number of Exit Tickets Returned: 67 (with/without feedback) Number of Exit Tickets that were evaluative (Rating): 49 Question: Do you think the Math Night was successful and informative?
