ORDINANCE NO. 639
AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 8, 2010, FOR THE ELECTION OF A MAYOR AND
TWO (2) COUNCIL MEMBERS TO TERMS EXPIRING MAY 2012.
WHEREAS, the general election of 2010 was duly called and held in the Town of
Westlake, Texas on the 8th day of May 2010, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and two (2)
Town Council Members to serve terms of two -years; and
WHEREAS, it is hereby found and determined that notice of the election was duly given
in the form, manner and time required by law, and said election was in all respects legally held
and conducted in accordance with applicable laws of the State of Texas and the proceedings
governing the holding of such elections; and
WHEREAS, such canvass shows the following results:

Tim Brittan
Rebecca Rollins
Clif Cox
Kevin Hansen

THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: RECITALS FOUND TRUE. All of the recitals contained in the preamble
of this ordinance are found to be true and are adopted as findings of fact and a part of this
Town Council's judgment.
SECTION 2: ELECTION CANVASSED AND DECLARED EFFECTIVE. It is further
found and determined that the results of the election are as canvassed and tabulated in the
preamble hereof and in Exhibit 'A" attached hereto. The Town Council further finds the
following:

GENERAL ELECTION
Laura Wheat has been elected as Mayor to a term expiring May 2012
Tim Brittan has been elected as Council Member to a term expiring May 2012
Clif Cox has been elected as Council Member to a term expiring May 2012
SECTION 3: TOWN SECRETARY TO RECORD ELECTION RESULTS. The Town
Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to make the appropriate entries of information
appearing in the tabulation of precinct results shown in Exhibit "A" attached hereto in the
election register maintained by the Town in accordance with provisions of Section 67.006 of the
Election Code.
SECTION 4: CITY STAFF TO TAKE NECESSARY ACTIONS TO GIVE EFFECT. The
Town Manager, Town Secretary, and Town Attorney are hereby authorized and instructed to
take all actions necessary to give effect to this ordinance and the election, as provided by law.
SECTION 5: EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be effective upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 17"' DAY OF MAY 2010.
