WHEREAS, the Town Council called an ordered the General Election on January 25, 2016; and WHEREAS, the general election for the Town of Westlake as set forth by the Texas Election Code, was held on May 7, 201, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and two (2) Council Members for two (2) year terms; and WHEREAS, it is hereby found and determined that notice of the election was duly given in the form, manner and time required by law, and said election was in all respects legally held and conducted in accordance with applicable laws of the State of Texas and the proceedings governing the holding of such elections; and WHEREAS, such canvass shows the following results: Early Votes Cast Election Day Votes Total Mayor Laura Wheat Final numbers provided by the County on Monday, May 16, 2016. It is further found and determined that the results of the election are as canvassed and tabulated in the preamble hereof and in Exhibit “A” attached hereto. SECTION 4: CITY STAFF TO TAKE NECESSARY ACTIONS TO GIVE EFFECT. The Town Manager, Town Secretary, and Town Attorney are hereby authorized and instructed to take all actions necessary to give effect to this ordinance and the election, as provided by law.
