RESOLUTION NO. 95-6
A RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE,
TEXAS SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A JOINT TEEN COURT AND
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN'S PARTICIPATION WITH OTHER GOVERNMENTAL
ENTITIES.
WHEREAS, the municipalities of Trophy Club, Westlake, Roanoke, Keller and Watauga,
and the independent school districts of Keller, Northwest and Birdville have demonstrated a
strong interest in the Teen Court concept as a proactive measure to prevent and solve juvenile
crime; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the citizens of Westlake that the
Town join together with neighboring municipalities and school districts in establishing a joint
Teen Court in order that juveniles in the area can become educated concerning the judicial
process, the United States Constitution, the Texas Constitution, and the Statutory Laws of the
State of Texas.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Aldermen of the Town of
Westlake, Texas, that:
Section 1: The Town of Westlake, Texas, supports establishing of a joint
Teen Court and hereby authorizes participation in the Teen Court
should an acceptable program be developed.
Section 2: The Town of Westlake acknowledges the importance of the
participation of its representatives with representatives of other
governmental entities in formulating and establishing the Teen
Court for the benefit of all concerned.
ADOPTED by the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake this 13th day of
November, 1995.
